For twenty years now, I have sculpted dynamic human figures in clay, using my stoneware glazes, all imagined as though made of flint.

Inspiration came from flints found on Wessex beaches evoking man’s long-standing relationship with this mysterious material. I particularly focussed on joy and aspiration but also highlighted a shared vulnerability to the destructive forces of nature.

My work has been featured in several books and magazines. I attended the Museum School of Fine Arts Boston USA, and was mentored by Althea Wynne FBSS.

I have returned to painting and drawing, still inspired by colour and the human figure, and am currently experimenting with abstraction using oil and watercolour.
